I didn’t know much about Harry Potter other than he is a wizard, and he is really popular.
Somehow I managed to go all this time without investing much interest in the series.
Sure, I’ve been curious in the past… but with 7 or 8 books and movies to catch up on… I figured eventually the time would come.
Now, I’m definitely the type of person who likes to read the book before I see the movie, and this case is no different… however, I wound up watching the movie before I read the first book.
I put both items on hold at the library, and the book had 2 holds before me, and the movie had 1. It became available earlier, so I picked it up and watched it. Plus, I think this was a good way to see if it’s something I could really get into.
Then, of course, the next morning the library texted me to say that the book was available.
Despite having just seen the first movie, I still intend to read the first book before I move on with the series, and I probably won’t begin that until I finish the zombie book I’m slowly reading.
What I really should do is set a certain time of the day, or night, and devote it strictly to reading- no exceptions. No distractions. I would surely get a lot more reading done than I have been. I haven’t even read anything in the last 2-3 days. Nothing!
I’ve been doing a lot of other things… but I want to keep reading.
So, you could say that I’ve drank the Harry Potter Koolaid.
I thought the movie was really creative, and it made me really curious to read the book(s).
Maybe I’ll even read all the books before I watch the rest of the movies…
We’ll see about that.
I am pretty excited that I’m discovering the series through the library too. Saving me money!
