Today I did something else new at the library. How exciting!
I checked out two magazines… and two more books… & 4 more cd’s… and 2 more movies… but I return stuff just as quickly as I check more out.
I had not really considered the option of checking out magazines.
Aware that it was a possibility, I refrained until today.
I’ve always just loved certain magazines, and I took pride in buying them… but ordinarily I would only read each one once. There were times when I would cut them apart to make various projects, scrapbooks, and journals look cooler, but I haven’t done that in awhile.
These days… there’s just no sense in buying them. Maybe there hasn’t ever been sense in it but I couldn’t seem to stop myself before. Now? I’ll just borrow them from the library.
I already did everything I would have done to the Runner’s World Magazine I borrowed, and it saved me $5 because I didn’t buy it.
I don’t have a compulsive magazine-buying problem or anything…
I went through that in high school…
but I do find myself buying at least one random magazine a month.
Then there are stacks of them in my room, or office, collecting dust.
In an effort to both de-clutter and save money, I resolve to not purchase another magazine for the rest of the year. I am guilty of buying two Hi-Fructose (best selling new contemporary art magazine) back issues just last week… but you cannot pay for a paper subscription from them anymore… so I just felt compelled.
Anyway, I’m happy about being able to read these for free.
Maybe I’ll check out some cooking magazines next and make a meal from it!
